Certification Preparatory Classes

By earning a Microsoft Certification, you gain advanced, market-relevant skills that employers recognize and respect as well as opportunities to connect with a global community of other certified professionals.  A study (“Impact of Training-Functional Excellence Leads to Operational Productivity (Dec 2008) and Impact of Training (2011)”) conducted by the global market intelligence firm IDC looked at the organizational performance of more than 2,000 IT Teams and 500 projects, examining the relationship of team performance to the percentage of the team certified on a variety of technologies.  The IDC study stated, “Unequivocally, certification, as a measure of skill, showed a positive correlation to performance improvement.”  In the areas of general service excellence and specific measures of task-level performance, certification made a measurable impact:

  • Sixty percent of managers surveyed believe the skill of the team contributed most to the success of technology function.

  • Seventy-five percent of managers believe that certification is important to team performance.

  • Sixty-six percent of managers believe that computer training certification improves the level of service and support offered to IT end users, prospects and customers.

  • Team performance increases every time a new team member is certified.

  • Concentration certification in a team is clearly linked to team capability and performance.

  • With a sufficient percentage of team members certified, IT operational performance can increase up to an average of 11 percent. The research suggests that about 25 percent of IT professionals hold some form of relevant certification.

Technology changes quickly, that much is true, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the need to show what you, as an employment candidate, know to help you get a good job or to advance in your technical career. Certifications help demonstrate that students have learned the skills they need to succeed in today’s job market; and, when evaluating new candidates, employers recognize the value of a certification from a prominent career school. In fact, one reason that computer students have attended South Florida’s PC Professor since 1989 is to learn difficult material in a hands-on manner. Some students have taken our preparatory IT certification classes to upgrade their skills thereby advancing their IT careers, while others have enrolled to make themselves more marketable in a challenging economy.  Still others have enrolled to help distinguish themselves from the rest of the employment pack. Whatever your class enrollment reasoning may be, allow us to show you why we are South Florida’s hands-on computer training leader and why our computer career school has become synonymous with “academic excellence”.
